Taylor has recently been awarded Sydney Airport Corporation Limited ‘Mantra Hotel’ located at 3 Ross Smith Avenue, Mascot just around the corner from Terminals 2 and 3 used by Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Tigerair and Rex for domestic flights and will be within walking distance of both passenger terminals. Mantra Group has been appointed to managed the new hotel under the Mantra Brand.

Taylor is delivering the new 9 storey hotel on a floor area of 5,068 sqm which will consist of 136 rooms with a roof level plant room and associated external carpark on grade. Ground Floor fit out will include a restaurant and bar area for the Hotel. The structure will be constructed using precast concrete panels to the east and west elevations and curtain wall to the north and south elevations, the building requires piling to 22 metre depth to bedrock.

Taylor is in the process of completing significant testing of the existing ground conditions to investigate the extent of ground contamination and the presences of acid sulphate soils. Taylor will formulate an environmental action plan to address the issues based on the results.
